Winter Session 2011 - V Edition

A Lodi celebrates five years of great blues! The cold winter
Lodi is going to be heated for the fifth consecutive year by the notes of bluesmen consumed arriving in town from all over the world. We came because the fifth edition of the "Winter Session" of the Lodi Blues Festival, an event that has had the pleasure of hosting world-class performers: Corey Harris by Eric Bibb, Fabio Treves Jerry Portnoy, Roberto Ciotti, the James Taylor Quartet just to name a few. This fifth edition to field veterans of the Italian blues-scene, a group of British blues icon, a champion of the American slide guitar, and a young (and already strong) national promise. Then sufficient to introduce, at least for two days, Lodi national capital of Blues!

Friday, 18/02/2010 It starts with a duo, which actually contains within it the seeds of a supergroup: Maurice Gnola "Glielmo, superfine guitarist and singer, is leader of the homonymous Gnola Blues Band, the reference group for fans of the blues in Italy. The same can be said for Jimmy Ragazzon , singer and leader of the Mandolin 'Brothers , training who has just celebrated 30 years of activity, with a tour and an album in the U.S.. The two artists tried and tested form a duo, which has recently published the album "Blues, Ballads and Songs" acclaimed by the critics.
will then be the turn of the first international guests. Straight from London came the Nine Below Zero , the cult band of British blues band incredible meeting point between the grit of R'n'B and passion of blues, punk Shake impetuousness. But time does not pass in vain for the great musicians, and NBZ have also rediscovered its own soul sound elegant, well documented in some of their recent album. Exceptionally for the Lodi Blues Festival, will be produced and then a double set, acoustic and electric, a rare enough occasion not to be missed!

Saturday, 19/02/2009 space to one of the most exciting emerging reality of the moment. Daniel Tenca, accompanied by his band granite, present the best "Blues For The Working Class." An album of depth, full of passion, determination and social issues, which earned him the 2011 Attendance at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, as the sole representative for Italy. The grand final is entrusted to the slide guitar of Roy Rogers. This American artist boasts a large collection of nominations and wins at the Grammy Awards, and four years with the legendary John Lee Hooker as a producer and guitarist. A technique and a feeling uncommon form of a Roy of the undisputed masters of blues slide guitar in the world, and is currently touring the states side by side with Ray Manzarek The Doors. Roy will be supported by the band of Paolo Bonfanti, lefty guitarist and singer, another heavyweight of Italian blues scene and beyond, having also his collaborations with members of the PFM and its production level as a song-writer.
